Responsibilities
- Process emergency and non-emergency calls with accuracy and urgency
- Operate radio communication systems to coordinate first responders
- Maintain detailed logs and incident reports using CAD software
- Provide clear, calm instructions during critical situations
- Collaborate with law enforcement, fire, and EMS personnel
- Perform multitasking duties while prioritizing time-sensitive information
- Complete comprehensive dispatcher certification training
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Strong communication and active listening skills
- Ability to remain calm under high-pressure situations
- Basic computer proficiency and typing skills (30+ WPM preferred)
- Must be at least 18 years old and a U.S. citizen
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- No prior dispatcher experience necessary – training provided
