Responsibilities
- Process 911 emergency calls with accuracy and urgency
- Dispatch police units and emergency services using CAD systems
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and incidents
- Provide critical information to officers in the field
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during emergencies
- Operate radio equipment and computer dispatch consoles
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and protocol standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid Louisiana driver's license
- Ability to pass background check and drug screening
- Proficient in typing (minimum 40 WPM)
- Strong verbal communication skills
- Ability to multitask in high-pressure situations
- Basic computer literacy with Microsoft Office
- No criminal record (felony convictions disqualify)
