Responsibilities
- Process emergency calls and dispatch appropriate first responders
- Maintain accurate radio communication with field units
- Enter and update critical incident data in CAD systems
- Multitask between phone, radio, and digital channels during crises
- Adhere to strict NENA and NCIC protocols
- Train on emergency medical dispatch procedures
- Participate in scenario-based crisis simulations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Clear criminal background check and drug screen
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM (tested during interview)
- Ability to work 12-hour rotating shifts (including nights/weekends)
- Strong emotional control during high-pressure situations
- Basic computer literacy and data entry proficiency
- Valid Florida driver's license
- Must pass dispatcher aptitude assessment
