Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency/non-emergency calls using CAD systems
- Dispatch police units and maintain radio communication during critical incidents
- Enter and update information in law enforcement databases accurately
- Provide life-saving instructions to callers in emergency situations
- Maintain detailed logs of all communications and activities
- Collaborate with other agencies during multi-jurisdictional responses
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and procedural protocols
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent
- U.S. citizenship and valid Texas driver's license
- Ability to pass background check, polygraph, and drug screening
- Strong typing skills (minimum 40 WPM)
- Exceptional communication and multitasking abilities
- Ability to work rotating shifts including nights, weekends, and holidays
- Basic computer proficiency with Windows operating systems
- No felony convictions or domestic violence charges
