Responsibilities
- Develop and implement public health policies aligned with CDC guidelines and state mandates
- Oversee community vaccination programs and health education campaigns
- Manage emergency response protocols for public health crises
- Analyze epidemiological data to identify community health trends
- Collaborate with state agencies and non-profit partners on grant-funded initiatives
- Supervise a team of 8-12 public health specialists and coordinators
- Prepare annual budget reports and justify funding requests to city council
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Public Health, Epidemiology, or related field
- Minimum 5 years of experience in municipal health administration
- Certified in Public Health (CPH) or eligible for certification
- Expertise in grant writing and federal compliance (HRSA, CDC)
- Advanced proficiency in health data analytics tools (Tableau, SAS)
- Valid California driver's license with clean record
- Spanish bilingual proficiency required
- Experience managing budgets exceeding $1M annually
