Responsibilities
- Develop and maintain comprehensive emergency response protocols for public health crises
- Coordinate cross-functional teams including healthcare providers, law enforcement, and community organizations
- Lead incident command operations during public health emergencies
- Conduct risk assessments and vulnerability analyses for Chicago communities
- Implement crisis communication strategies across multiple channels
- Manage grant-funded emergency preparedness programs
- Train public health staff on emergency response procedures
- Prepare post-incident reports and improvement recommendations
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years experience in public health emergency response
- Certified Emergency Manager (CEM) or equivalent credential
- Expertise in incident command system (ICS) and NIMS protocols
- Proven crisis communication and stakeholder management skills
- Strong analytical abilities with experience in risk assessment
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and emergencies
- Illinois residency required
