Responsibilities
- Coordinate emergency response operations during public health incidents (pandemics, natural disasters, bioterrorism)
- Develop and maintain emergency preparedness protocols aligned with FEMA and CDC standards
- Lead inter-agency task forces including law enforcement, healthcare providers, and community organizations
- Analyze real-time data to inform resource allocation and public messaging
- Conduct tabletop exercises and full-scale drills to validate response capabilities
- Manage grant-funded projects totaling $500K+ annually
- Train 200+ frontline responders annually in crisis protocols
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Health, Emergency Management, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years experience in public health emergency response or crisis management
- FEMA Professional Development Series (PDS) certification required
- Expertise in Incident Command System (ICS) and NIMS protocols
- Proven ability to manage multi-agency collaborations under pressure
- Advanced data analysis skills (SPSS, R, or similar)
- Valid California driver's license and ability to work 24/7 during emergencies
