Responsibilities
- Analyze complex policy issues and develop data-driven recommendations for city council and executive leadership
- Conduct comprehensive research on local, state, and federal regulations affecting Houston communities
- Prepare detailed policy briefs, reports, and presentations for stakeholder engagement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to implement equitable public programs
- Monitor policy implementation effectiveness and recommend evidence-based adjustments
- Engage with community leaders, advocacy groups, and residents to gather diverse perspectives
- Stay current on emerging policy trends and best practices in municipal governance
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, Urban Planning, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 3 years of experience in policy analysis or government operations
- Advanced proficiency in quantitative and qualitative research methodologies
- Expertise in policy writing, data visualization, and stakeholder communication
- Deep understanding of Texas municipal governance structures and regulations
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines
- Strong analytical skills with experience in SPSS, R, or similar statistical tools
