Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency and non-emergency calls via 911 and administrative lines
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS personnel with precise location and incident details
- Maintain calm communication during critical incidents
- Operate computer-aided dispatch (CAD) and radio systems
- Document call information and incident reports accurately
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during large-scale emergencies
- Provide crisis intervention and pre-arrival medical instructions when needed
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Valid Virginia driver's license
- Ability to pass criminal background check and drug screening
- Minimum 40 WPM typing proficiency
- EMT, Fire, or Law Enforcement certification (highly desirable)
- Experience in high-stress customer service environments
- Ability to work rotating weekends and holidays consistently
- Proficiency with multi-tasking and decision-making under pressure
