Responsibilities
- Process 911 calls and prioritize emergency responses using CAD/RMS systems
- Dispatch police, fire, and EMS units with precise location and incident details
- Maintain constant communication with field personnel during active incidents
- Document all interactions in compliance with NENA and NCIC standards
- Operate radio systems, telephone networks, and alerting technologies
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during major emergencies
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation to callers
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred
- Minimum 2 years dispatch or public safety communications experience
- NENA-PPCT or APCO certification within 12 months of hire
- Valid Colorado driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to pass extensive background check and psychological evaluation
- Proficiency in computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems
- Exceptional multitasking abilities under high-pressure conditions
- Fluency in English; bilingual Spanish speakers encouraged to apply
