Responsibilities
- Receive and prioritize emergency calls for police, fire, and medical services
- Dispatch appropriate emergency units using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Provide pre-arrival medical instructions via telephone
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Monitor radio communications and ensure protocol compliance
- Assist in training new dispatchers and process improvement
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (college degree preferred)
- Valid Oregon driver's license
- National Emergency Number Association (NENA) certification within 12 months
- Ability to pass background check, polygraph, and psychological evaluation
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Experience in high-stress customer service or emergency services
- Proficiency in computer-aided dispatch systems
- Must be 21 years of age or older
