Responsibilities
- Dispatch emergency services (police, fire, EMS) via radio and computer-aided systems during weekend shifts
- Maintain accurate incident logs and coordinate multi-agency responses
- Operate communication equipment including NCIC/LEADS databases and mapping systems
- Provide crisis intervention and de-escalation support to callers in emergency situations
- Adhere to all federal, state, and local protocols for emergency response
- Train weekend shift personnel on emergency procedures and system updates
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; college degree preferred
- Minimum 1 year experience in emergency dispatch or public safety communications
- Valid Kentucky driver's license and clean driving record
- Ability to work rotating weekends, holidays, and overnight shifts
- Proficiency in CAD/RMS systems and Microsoft Office Suite
- Strong multi-tasking skills and ability to remain calm under pressure
- Successful completion of background check and drug screening
