Responsibilities
- Respond to emergency calls including fire suppression, medical incidents, and natural disasters
- Conduct routine community safety inspections and public education programs
- Operate specialized emergency vehicles and equipment safely
- Maintain detailed incident reports and documentation
- Collaborate with federal/state agencies during large-scale emergencies
- Participate in continuous training drills and certification programs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree preferred
- Valid Virginia driver's license with clean record
- EMT-Basic certification or higher (Paramedic preferred)
- Minimum 2 years public safety or military experience
- Ability to pass rigorous physical agility assessment
- Strong communication skills and crisis management abilities
- U.S. citizenship and ability to obtain security clearance
