Responsibilities
- Answer 911 and non-emergency calls with empathy and urgency
- Dispatch police officers and emergency services using CAD/RMS systems
- Maintain accurate call logs and incident documentation
- Coordinate multi-agency responses during critical incidents
- Provide pre-arrival medical instructions via emergency protocols
- Monitor surveillance systems and alarm activations
- Collaborate with law enforcement and fire departments
- Adhere to strict confidentiality and HIPAA compliance standards
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; college degree preferred
- Minimum 1 year customer service or call center experience
- Ability to multitask in high-stress environments
- Proficient with computer-aided dispatch (CAD) systems
- Valid North Carolina driver's license
- Pass extensive background check and polygraph examination
- Typing speed of 40+ WPM with 95% accuracy
- Ability to work rotating night shifts (10:00 PM - 6:00 AM)
