Responsibilities
- Manage infrastructure maintenance projects including roads, water systems, and public facilities
- Develop and administer departmental budgets exceeding $2M annually
- Coordinate with federal, state, and local agencies for grant compliance
- Oversee procurement processes for construction materials and services
- Lead cross-functional teams of engineers, contractors, and support staff
- Ensure all projects meet safety standards and regulatory requirements
- Prepare comprehensive reports for city council and public stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Public Administration, or related field
- 5+ years of experience in municipal infrastructure management
- Valid Illinois Professional Engineer (PE) license required
- Proven budget management experience with public funds
- Strong knowledge of federal/state infrastructure regulations
- Excellent project management and stakeholder communication skills
- Experience with GIS and infrastructure planning software
- Ability to obtain Illinois Class B CDL within 90 days of hire
