Responsibilities
- Oversee $50M+ infrastructure budgets and capital improvement projects
- Manage cross-functional teams of engineers and public works specialists
- Develop and implement municipal infrastructure policies aligned with state regulations
- Coordinate with federal/state agencies for grant compliance and funding
- Analyze public works data to optimize service delivery efficiency
- Lead emergency response planning for natural disasters
- Present reports to City Council and community stakeholders
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Civil Engineering, or related field
- 5+ years of government/public sector management experience
- Kansas Public Works certification or equivalent credentials
- Advanced proficiency in municipal budgeting software (e.g., Tyler Technologies)
- Demonstrated experience with federal grant management (FEMA, DOT)
- Valid Kansas driver's license
- Strong analytical skills with data-driven decision making
- Excellent written/verbal communication abilities
