Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections of construction projects for compliance with city codes and blueprints
- Prepare detailed inspection reports and documentation
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city departments
- Investigate citizen complaints related to public infrastructure
- Review development plans and permits for technical accuracy
- Enforce safety regulations on construction sites
- Test materials and soil samples for quality assurance
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED required; Associate's degree in civil engineering or construction technology preferred
- Minimum 2 years of construction inspection or public works experience
- Tennessee Class III Wastewater Operator certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Valid Tennessee driver's license with clean record
- Strong knowledge of OSHA safety protocols and local building codes
- Proficiency with CAD software and inspection reporting tools
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
