Responsibilities
- Conduct field inspections of construction projects for code compliance and quality assurance
- Review engineering plans and specifications for adherence to public works standards
- Document findings through detailed reports and photographic evidence
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city departments to resolve issues
- Ensure compliance with OSHA, FDOT, and Tampa Municipal Code requirements
- Prepare progress reports and maintain accurate project documentation
- Provide technical guidance to construction crews on site
Qualifications
- Minimum 3 years of construction inspection experience in civil engineering or public works
- Valid Florida Inspector Certification (or ability to obtain within 6 months)
- Proficiency in CAD software and inspection documentation systems
- Strong knowledge of construction materials, methods, and safety protocols
- Ability to interpret technical blueprints and engineering specifications
- Excellent communication skills with ability to interact with diverse stakeholders
- Valid Florida driver's license with clean record
- Pass background check and drug screening
