Responsibilities
- Conduct on-site inspections of construction projects ensuring compliance with city codes and safety standards
- Review engineering plans and specifications for public infrastructure projects
- Document inspection findings and prepare detailed technical reports
- Collaborate with contractors, engineers, and city officials to resolve compliance issues
- Enforce city ordinances and federal regulations related to construction activities
- Utilize GIS mapping software for project documentation and tracking
- Provide testimony in legal proceedings when required
Qualifications
- Associate's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Technology, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of construction inspection experience
- Valid Georgia Driver's License with clean record
- ICC Certification (Building Inspector preferred)
- Proficiency with AutoCAD and construction inspection software
- Strong knowledge of local building codes and OSHA regulations
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work in outdoor environments and traverse construction sites
