Responsibilities
- Inspect construction sites for compliance with city codes and safety regulations
- Review engineering plans and blueprints for accuracy
- Document findings and prepare detailed inspection reports
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and city officials
- Investigate resident complaints related to public infrastructure
- Issue violation notices and ensure corrective actions
- Participate in emergency response for public works incidents
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; associate's degree preferred
- 2+ years of construction inspection or public works experience
- Valid Nebraska driver's license with clean record
- OSHA 30-hour construction certification
- Proficiency with CAD software and inspection reporting tools
- Strong knowledge of local building codes and regulations
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
- Ability to work outdoors in various weather conditions
