Responsibilities
- Perform general labor duties related to street maintenance, including pothole repair and sweeping.
- Operate heavy machinery and equipment such as dump trucks, backhoes, and asphalt pavers.
- Assist with snow and ice removal during inclement weather events to ensure public safety.
- Perform routine maintenance and cleaning of public facilities, parks, and right-of-ways.
- Follow all safety protocols and OSHA regulations to ensure a hazard-free work environment.
- Collaborate with team members and supervisors to complete projects efficiently and on schedule.
- Load and unload construction materials and equipment as needed.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Virginia Class C Driver's License with a good driving record.
- Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds repeatedly.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of construction or landscaping equipment is a plus but not required.
- Must pass a pre-employment drug screen and background check.
