Responsibilities
- Operate light/heavy machinery (backhoes, dump trucks, graders) for excavation and grading
- Perform manual labor including asphalt paving, sidewalk repairs, and storm drain maintenance
- Assist in traffic control and safety management during construction zones
- Conduct routine inspections of public infrastructure and document findings
- Maintain cleanliness of work areas and properly dispose of construction debris
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to meet project deadlines
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent (GED)
- Valid North Carolina driver's license with clean record
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in extreme weather conditions
- Basic mechanical aptitude and equipment operation skills
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification (or willingness to obtain)
- Pass pre-employment physical and drug screening
