Responsibilities
- Operate heavy machinery and equipment for road maintenance and construction projects
- Perform snow removal, street sweeping, and waste collection across DC neighborhoods
- Conduct routine inspections and repairs of public infrastructure (sidewalks, traffic signals, etc.)
- Adhere to strict safety protocols and OSHA standards in all operations
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams for coordinated municipal services delivery
- Maintain accurate work logs and equipment maintenance records
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required
- Valid Class C Driver's License with clean driving record
- Minimum 1 year experience in construction, landscaping, or public works
- Certification in heavy equipment operation preferred (CDL Class A/B a plus)
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks in all weather
- Pass pre-employment background check and drug screening
- Basic knowledge of municipal infrastructure systems
