Responsibilities
- Perform manual labor including excavation, grading, and material handling for municipal projects
- Operate heavy machinery (backhoes, loaders, dump trucks) with proper safety protocols
- Maintain public spaces including street repairs, landscaping, and snow removal
- Inspect and repair infrastructure like sidewalks, drainage systems, and traffic signs
- Collaborate with engineering teams to execute project plans accurately
- Adhere to OSHA regulations and city safety standards at all times
- Document work progress and maintain equipment maintenance logs
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent with 1+ years construction/maintenance experience
- Valid Pennsylvania driver's license with clean record
- OSHA 10-hour construction certification preferred
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding tasks
- Experience operating heavy machinery (backhoes, excavators)
- Basic understanding of blueprint reading and safety protocols
- Strong teamwork skills and ability to work in all weather conditions
