Responsibilities
- Perform general labor duties including excavation, grading, paving, and trenching for utility lines.
- Assist in snow and ice removal operations, ensuring safe travel for city residents and commuters.
- Operate light to medium equipment such as dump trucks, skid steers, jackhammers, and rollers.
- Maintain public rights-of-way, including litter removal, graffiti abatement, and vegetation management.
- Follow all OSHA safety guidelines and site-specific safety protocols at all times.
- Communicate effectively with supervisors and team members to ensure project milestones are met.
- Perform routine equipment inspections and minor maintenance as directed.
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Physically fit and able to perform heavy manual labor in various weather conditions (heat, cold, rain).
- Ability to work early mornings, evenings, weekends, and holidays as required by city schedules.
- Valid Driver’s License and a clean driving record.
- Basic knowledge of construction safety practices and equipment operation is a plus.
- Must be reliable, punctual, and able to pass a background check and drug screening.
