Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repairs on city facilities, roads, and drainage systems
- Operate heavy equipment including trucks, backhoes, and trenchers safely and efficiently
- Respond to emergency infrastructure repairs during weather events or service disruptions
- Conduct regular inspections of public assets and document maintenance activities
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and city safety protocols
- Manage inventory and requisition supplies for maintenance operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED equivalent; technical certification preferred
- Minimum 2 years of experience in public works or heavy equipment maintenance
- Valid Texas Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL)
- Proficiency in operating heavy machinery and diagnostic tools
- Ability to work flexible hours including weekends and emergencies
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Basic knowledge of blueprints and technical schematics
- Pass background check and drug screening
