Responsibilities
- Perform preventive maintenance and repair on traffic signals, street lighting, and associated infrastructure.
- Inspect public infrastructure for compliance with Oregon Department of Transportation (ODOT) and city standards.
- Operate heavy machinery, bucket trucks, and specialized diagnostic tools safely in various weather conditions.
- Respond to emergency service calls to address traffic signal malfunctions or public safety hazards.
- Document all work orders, maintain accurate inventory logs, and submit detailed reports to supervisors.
- Collaborate with engineering staff to support capital improvement projects and system upgrades.
- Ensure strict adherence to all safety protocols and OSHA regulations on the job site.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent; technical certification in electrical or mechanical systems is a plus.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in public works, utility maintenance, or a related field.
- Valid Class B Commercial Driverβs License (CDL) is required.
- Ability to pass a post-offer medical examination, including drug screen and criminal background check.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Physical stamina to perform manual labor, including lifting 50+ lbs and working at heights.
