Responsibilities
- Perform routine maintenance and repair of city streets, alleys, and parking lots, including pothole filling, crack sealing, and asphalt repair.
- Operate and maintain heavy municipal equipment, including dump trucks, graders, rollers, and asphalt pavers.
- Inspect public infrastructure for safety hazards and report deficiencies to supervisors.
- Assist in snow and ice removal operations during winter weather events to ensure public safety.
- Maintain and clean work vehicles, tools, and equipment to ensure they are in optimal working condition.
- Adhere to all safety protocols and OSHA regulations while performing duties.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests from the public and other departments promptly.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Colorado Class A or B Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) with a clean driving record.
- Minimum of 1-2 years of experience in public works, road maintenance, or a related field.
- Ability to lift and carry heavy objects (up to 50+ pounds) and perform physical labor in various weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of construction materials and asphalt maintenance techniques.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
