Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repair on streets, sidewalks, alleys, and public facilities to ensure a safe and accessible environment for citizens.
- Operate and maintain heavy equipment, including but not limited to snow plows, graders, loaders, and dump trucks.
- Respond to emergency service requests and perform snow and ice removal during winter storms to maintain road safety.
- Ensure strict compliance with all OSHA safety regulations, City policies, and environmental standards.
- Conduct regular inspections of infrastructure to identify potential hazards or needed repairs.
- Collaborate with other municipal departments to coordinate large-scale projects and community clean-up efforts.
- Perform routine preventative maintenance on tools and machinery to ensure operational efficiency.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED required; technical or vocational training in a related field is a plus.
- Valid Colorado Driver’s License and a clean driving record required.
- Minimum of 2 years of experience in general labor, construction, or public works maintenance.
- Ability to operate heavy machinery (CDL Class B preferred but not always required).
- Physically fit and able to perform strenuous labor in all weather conditions.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to follow detailed instructions.
- Must pass a background check and drug screening.
