Responsibilities
- Perform preventative maintenance and repairs on municipal facilities, parks, and infrastructure
- Operate heavy machinery including trucks, loaders, and specialized equipment safely
- Respond to emergency repairs during storms, fires, and other critical incidents
- Conduct regular inspections of public spaces to identify safety hazards
- Collaborate with engineering teams on infrastructure improvement projects
- Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities and equipment usage
- Adhere to OSHA and city safety protocols for all operations
Qualifications
- High school diploma or equivalent; vocational training in maintenance preferred
- Valid California Class C driver's license with clean record
- Minimum 2 years' experience in public works or facility maintenance
- Ability to lift 50+ pounds and work in various weather conditions
- Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical systems, and construction methods
- CPR/First Aid certification or willingness to obtain within 30 days
- Successful completion of background check and drug screening
