Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy municipal equipment, including dump trucks, graders, and snowplows.
- Perform routine maintenance and repair of streets, sidewalks, and public infrastructure.
- Assist in traffic control and flagging operations during construction and maintenance projects.
- Conduct inspections of public facilities to ensure safety and compliance with city codes.
- Participate in snow and ice removal operations during inclement weather events.
- Load and unload construction materials, tools, and supplies.
Qualifications
- Valid Illinois Commercial Driverβs License (CDL) Class A or B is preferred.
- High school diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Physical ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and perform manual labor in all weather conditions.
- Basic knowledge of construction and road maintenance practices is a plus.
- Ability to follow verbal and written instructions accurately.
- Must be willing to work overtime and rotating shifts as needed.
