Responsibilities
- Maintain Infrastructure: Perform routine maintenance, repair, and cleaning of streets, sidewalks, parks, and public facilities.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate heavy machinery such as dump trucks, excavators, and jackhammers.
- Emergency Response: Respond quickly to emergency repair requests and weather-related incidents to ensure public safety.
- Compliance & Safety: Adhere to all city safety regulations, OSHA standards, and departmental policies.
- Waste Management: Assist in the collection, sorting, and disposal of municipal waste and recyclables when necessary.
- Communication: Report daily progress and maintenance needs to supervisors clearly and effectively.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED required.
- Experience: Previous experience in construction, landscaping, or public works is highly preferred.
- License: Valid Pennsylvania Class B Driver's License with a clean driving record.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50 lbs repeatedly and work in various weather conditions.
- Skills: Basic knowledge of hand and power tools; ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Clearance: Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
