Key Duties
The successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks ensuring the safety and aesthetic appeal of our city.
Responsibilities
- Perform general maintenance and repair of streets, sidewalks, and park facilities.
- Operate heavy machinery, including dump trucks, graders, and excavators, in accordance with safety protocols.
- Respond to emergency maintenance requests, including storm damage and flooding situations.
- Maintain and clean public infrastructure, including street signs, traffic lights, and drainage systems.
- Ensure all work is completed in compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Assist in snow and ice removal operations during winter months.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed and equipment used.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is preferred; on-the-job training may be available for qualified candidates.
- Basic knowledge of mechanical equipment and construction tools.
- Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions, including extreme heat and cold.
- Physical stamina required to perform heavy labor, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
