Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy municipal equipment, including dump trucks, loaders, and backhoes, following all safety protocols.
- Perform routine street maintenance tasks, including pothole repair, patching, and line striping.
- Assist with snow and ice removal operations during inclement weather to ensure public safety.
- Inspect and maintain public infrastructure, such as sidewalks, curbs, and storm drains.
- Collect and dispose of refuse, recyclables, and bulk waste in accordance with city ordinances.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and departmental safety regulations while operating vehicles and machinery.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Previous experience in public works, construction, or general labor is preferred but not required; on-the-job training provided.
- Ability to obtain a Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is a plus.
- Must be able to pass a drug screen and background check.
- Physical stamina to perform heavy manual labor, including lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods.
- Strong commitment to public service and safety standards.
