Responsibilities
- Maintain Streets and Infrastructure: Perform routine maintenance, repair, and cleaning of city streets, sidewalks, and alleys.
- Landscaping and Parks: Assist in the upkeep of parks, medians, and right-of-way areas, including mowing, trimming, and planting.
- Snow and Ice Removal: Operate plows and salt spreaders during winter months to ensure public safety and accessibility.
- Equipment Operation: Safely operate and maintain a variety of heavy and light equipment, including dump trucks, backhoes, and mowers.
- Sign and Signal Maintenance: Repair, replace, and maintain traffic signs, guardrails, and street lighting.
- General Labor: Perform general cleanup duties and assist with special projects as assigned by supervisors.
Qualifications
- Education: High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- License: Valid Arizona Class C Driverβs License and a clean driving record required.
- Experience: Previous experience in public works, landscaping, or general construction labor is preferred but not always required for qualified applicants.
- Physical Requirements: Ability to lift 50+ pounds, stand for extended periods, and work in various weather conditions (heat, rain, cold).
- Skills: Basic mechanical aptitude and the ability to follow safety protocols and verbal instructions.
- Availability: Ability to work occasional overtime, nights, weekends, or holidays during emergencies.
