Responsibilities
- Operate and maintain heavy-duty municipal vehicles, including garbage trucks, sweepers, and front-loaders, ensuring they are in peak condition.
- Collect, load, and transport refuse, recycling, and bulk waste from residential and commercial zones efficiently and safely.
- Perform routine maintenance checks on all assigned equipment and report any mechanical issues immediately.
- Assist in snow and ice removal operations during severe winter weather to ensure public safety.
- Adhere to all strict safety protocols, OSHA regulations, and environmental guidelines while on duty.
- Collaborate with team members to maintain high productivity and cleanliness standards across all assigned routes.
Qualifications
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent required.
- Valid Class B Commercial Driver's License (CDL) is highly preferred; valid state driver's license required.
- Physically fit and capable of lifting heavy objects (up to 50 lbs) and working in various weather conditions.
- Strong commitment to public service, punctuality, and teamwork.
- Ability to pass a background check and drug screening.
