Responsibilities
- Direct capital improvement projects including transportation, water systems, and public facilities
- Manage project lifecycles: planning, budgeting, procurement, execution, and closeout
- Ensure strict adherence to federal/state regulations (Davis-Bacon, NEPA, Title VI)
- Coordinate with contractors, engineers, and community stakeholders
- Oversee environmental compliance and sustainability initiatives
- Generate progress reports for city council and federal grant agencies
- Lead risk mitigation and contingency planning for complex projects
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Public Administration, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years experience in public works/government project management
- PMP certification or California PE license required
- Proven track record with federally funded infrastructure projects
- Expertise in construction management and contract administration
- Strong knowledge of California public contracting codes
- Experience with community engagement and public hearings
- Proficient in project management software (MS Project, AutoCAD)
