Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop error-correction protocols for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to translate algorithms to physical qubit architectures
- Lead research initiatives in quantum machine learning and cryptography
- Publish findings in peer-reviewed journals and present at international conferences
- mentor junior researchers and supervise graduate interns
- Secure external funding through NSF and DARPA grants
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (MS with exceptional experience considered)
- 3+ years of quantum algorithm development with demonstrated publications
- Proficiency in quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Expertise in linear algebra, complex analysis, and group theory
- Experience with high-performance computing clusters and GPU acceleration
- Strong track record of translating theoretical concepts to working prototypes
