Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and machine learning applications
- Lead cross-functional teams in prototyping quantum hardware architectures
- Develop error-correction protocols to enhance qubit stability beyond current industry standards
- Collaborate with government agencies on quantum-resistant cryptography standards for 2026
- Publish breakthrough research in Nature/Science and present at IEEE Quantum Week
- Mentor junior researchers in quantum physics and computational theory
- Secure $2M+ in annual research grants through NSF and DARPA partnerships
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science from Tier 1 institution
- 5+ years experience with quantum gate-based systems and superconducting qubits
- Published peer-reviewed papers in quantum algorithm development
- Proficiency in Qiskit, Cirq, and quantum circuit optimization frameworks
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault-tolerant architectures
- Track record of securing federal research grants (NSF/DARPA preferred)
- Experience mentoring PhD candidates and postdoctoral researchers
