Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and simulation problems
- Develop error correction protocols for quantum hardware systems
- Lead experimental validation of quantum computing architectures
- Collaborate with hardware teams on quantum processor design improvements
- Publish research in top-tier journals and present at international conferences
- Secure research funding through government and private grants
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to patent development
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Computing, Physics, or Computer Science (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on quantum algorithm development experience
- Proficiency with quantum programming frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Strong background in linear algebra and quantum mechanics
- Publication record in quantum computing or related fields
- Experience with superconducting or photonic quantum systems
- Proven ability to secure research funding (NSF, DARPA, etc.)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
