Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization, simulation, and machine learning applications
- Lead cross-functional teams in developing error-correction techniques for fault-tolerant quantum systems
- Collaborate with hardware engineers to translate theoretical models into practical quantum circuits
- Author groundbreaking research papers for Nature Physics and IEEE journals
- Develop proprietary quantum software frameworks using Q#, Python, and C++
- Mentor PhD candidates in quantum information theory and computational complexity
- Secure multi-million dollar grants from NSF and DARPA for quantum research initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or Computational Mathematics
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum hardware (IBM Q, Rigetti, or IonQ)
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum error correction
- Expertise in quantum programming languages (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Strong background in linear algebra, probability theory, and complexity classes
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and high-performance computing frameworks
- Track record of securing competitive research grants
- Experience mentoring quantum computing researchers
