Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel quantum algorithms for optimization and cryptography applications
- Lead experimental validation of quantum hardware prototypes at cryogenic temperatures
- Develop error-correction methodologies to achieve fault-tolerant quantum computation
- Publish groundbreaking research in top-tier journals and industry whitepapers
- Collaborate with engineering teams to translate theoretical models into scalable hardware solutions
- Secure research funding through federal grants and private partnerships
- Mentor junior researchers and contribute to quantum computing education initiatives
Qualifications
- PhD in Quantum Physics, Computer Science, or related field (or equivalent experience)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience with quantum computing frameworks (Qiskit, Cirq, or Q#)
- Published research in quantum algorithms or quantum hardware design
- Deep understanding of quantum error correction and fault tolerance principles
- Proficiency in Python, C++, and low-level programming for quantum systems
- Experience with superconducting or ion-trap quantum processors
- Strong track record of interdisciplinary collaboration across physics, engineering, and computer science
- US citizenship or permanent residency required for government contract compliance
