Responsibilities
- Research & Identification: Conduct in-depth research to identify suitable grant opportunities from federal, state, and private foundations, as well as corporate sponsors.
- Proposal Development: Draft clear, persuasive, and error-free grant proposals, letters of inquiry, and funding applications.
- Storytelling: Translate program outcomes and community impact data into compelling narratives that align with donor priorities.
- Calendar Management: Maintain a rigorous grant calendar, ensuring all deadlines are met and submissions are submitted on time.
- Collaboration: Partner with program staff and finance teams to gather necessary data, budgets, and case studies for submissions.
- Reporting: Prepare timely and accurate progress reports and financial statements to maintain compliance and donor satisfaction.
Qualifications
- Experience: Minimum of 3-5 years of proven experience in grant writing for the nonprofit sector.
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in English, Communications, Public Administration, or a related field required.
- Writing Skills: Exceptional writing, editing, and proofreading skills with a keen eye for detail.
- Research Skills: Strong ability to analyze funding guidelines and identify high-probability opportunities.
- Technical Proficiency: Familiarity with grant management software (e.g., Fluxx, SurveyMonkey Apply) and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Self-Motivation: Ability to work independently in a remote environment while managing multiple projects simultaneously.
