Responsibilities
- Operate heavy refuse collection trucks and machinery safely and efficiently.
- Collect, empty, and transport waste from designated residential and commercial routes.
- Maintain cleanliness of trucks and collection vehicles throughout the shift.
- Adhere to all traffic laws and safety protocols while operating vehicles.
- Perform minor maintenance checks on trucks and report mechanical issues promptly.
- Interact professionally with residents and ensure proper disposal of waste materials.
Qualifications
- Valid Class C Maryland Driver's License is required (CDL not always required but preferred).
- Ability to perform heavy physical labor, including lifting heavy objects and standing for extended periods.
- High School Diploma or GED equivalent.
- Basic mechanical aptitude and knowledge of safety procedures.
- Reliable attendance and punctuality are essential.
- Ability to work in all weather conditions.
