Responsibilities
- Develop, analyze, and present annual operating and capital budgets for multiple county departments
- Conduct financial modeling and forecasting to support long-term fiscal sustainability
- Monitor budget execution and variances, providing actionable insights to leadership
- Collaborate with agency heads to align spending with strategic priorities
- Prepare comprehensive financial reports and presentations for the Board of County Commissioners
- Lead process improvements in budgeting and financial reporting systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Finance, Public Administration, Accounting, or related field (Master's preferred)
- 5+ years of progressive government or public sector budgeting experience
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, SAP, and financial reporting software
- Strong analytical skills with ability to interpret complex financial data
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills with executive presence
- CPA or CMA certification highly desirable
- Experience with multi-million dollar public sector budget management
