Responsibilities
- Oversee all municipal record management, including council minutes, ordinances, and official documentation
- Manage municipal elections processes, voter registration, and election logistics
- Administer public records requests ensuring compliance with North Carolina public records law
- Coordinate City Council meetings, agendas, and public hearing documentation
- Lead records retention programs and digital archives initiatives
- Serve as primary liaison between citizens and municipal governance bodies
- Supplement administrative support to city departments during high-visibility public events
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business Administration, or related field
- Minimum 5 years municipal government or public sector experience
- NC Certified Municipal Clerk (NCMC) designation preferred
- Expert knowledge of North Carolina election laws and public records statutes
- Advanced proficiency in records management systems and digital documentation platforms
- Exceptional written and verbal communication skills
- Proven ability to manage sensitive information with confidentiality and integrity
- Experience supervising staff and coordinating complex projects
