The City of Boston is seeking a dynamic Senior City Clerk to join our municipal leadership team. Responsibilities
- Manage and preserve official municipal records, documents, and archives with strict compliance protocols
- Oversee all city elections, including voter registration, ballot preparation, and certification processes
- Administer oaths of office, public notary services, and municipal licensing functions
- Coordinate with city departments, state agencies, and the public for record requests and information dissemination
- Lead digital transformation of records management systems while ensuring data security and accessibility
- Prepare official reports, meeting minutes, and legislative documentation for City Council and Mayoral offices
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field (Master's preferred)
- Minimum 5 years of municipal government experience with records management focus
- Deep knowledge of Massachusetts election law and municipal regulations
- Proficiency in records management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, OnBase) and Microsoft Office Suite
- Exceptional communication skills with demonstrated ability to interact with diverse stakeholders
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation or willingness to obtain within 12 months
- Proven track record of implementing process improvements in public sector environments
