Responsibilities
- Oversee comprehensive records management for municipal ordinances, resolutions, and official proceedings
- Administer city elections, voter registration, and campaign finance compliance
- Manage business licensing and permitting systems for 2.7M residents
- Lead digital transformation of public records and FOIA request processing
- Coordinate with City Council offices on legislative documentation and archiving
- Develop public-facing civic engagement initiatives through digital platforms
- Ensure compliance with Illinois election laws and municipal record retention policies
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Political Science, or related field
- 5+ years in government records management or municipal operations
- Certified Municipal Clerk (CMC) designation preferred
- Expertise in Illinois election law and FOIA regulations
- Advanced proficiency in document management systems (e.g., Laserfiche, SharePoint)
- Experience managing business licensing databases and permitting workflows
- Proven ability to lead cross-departmental projects and public initiatives
