Responsibilities
- Manage and maintain official city records with meticulous attention to accuracy and compliance
- Support City Council meetings through agenda preparation, minute-taking, and documentation
- Process and track municipal permits, licenses, and regulatory submissions
- Coordinate cross-departmental communications and information dissemination
- Implement records retention policies and ensure secure document storage
- Assist citizens with inquiries regarding municipal procedures and documentation
- Conduct data entry and reporting for departmental performance metrics
- Train junior clerks on administrative protocols and systems
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Public Administration, Business, or related field
- Minimum 3 years of municipal government or administrative experience
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and government record-keeping systems
- Exceptional organizational skills with ability to manage complex workflows
- Strong written and verbal communication abilities
- Knowledge of Tennessee public records laws and regulations
- Ability to obtain Notary Public certification within 6 months
- Proven experience with confidential data handling and privacy protocols
