Responsibilities
- Develop and implement environmental policy frameworks aligned with California's climate goals
- Analyze legislative proposals and regulatory impacts for executive decision-making
- Lead stakeholder engagement with government agencies, NGOs, and community groups
- Prepare comprehensive reports and recommendations for the Secretary
- Oversee environmental compliance monitoring and enforcement programs
- Coordinate interdepartmental task forces on cross-cutting environmental issues
- Manage budget allocations for environmental initiatives ($5M+ portfolio)
Qualifications
- Master's degree in Environmental Science, Public Policy, or related field
- 5+ years of progressive experience in environmental policy analysis
- Expertise in California Environmental Quality Act (CEQA) and federal regulations
- Advanced data analysis proficiency with environmental datasets
- Proven track record of developing successful policy recommendations
- Strong written/verbal communication skills for complex audiences
- Valid California driver's license and ability to travel statewide
